Emerald and gold speaks to opulence and set the tone for the event design at the 13th Annual Rutherford Society Gala. A black-tie affair, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville in southeast Murfreesboro was transformed into an elegant affair. A mix of vibrant and deep greens, white furniture and golden accents made for a luxurious setting.

It is easy to take emerald and gold event design and end up over the top. With beautiful but simple pieces, a chic and functional space is possible. Alongside a pleasing aesthetic our aim is to eliminate any feelings of claustrophobia. It is a cocktail hour after all! Pieces like our Pearce Furniture, a chic modular lounge, and bistro tables will prompt guests towards social areas for a drink well throughout the evening.

The elegant layout and grandeur spilled over to the main ballroom for a 3-course meal. Paired with rich velvet tablecloths and white linens are the perfect amount of gold metallics to make it all pop! This includes Chiavari Chairs, gold-rimmed Athena Plates, and Austin Flatware. A touch of fresh florals in clear glass vases goes on to add some natural beauty.

When we lose a loved one we want to create a celebration that represents them. Celebrations of life are similar to memorial services but often take place after a funeral – or sometimes in place of a funeral altogether. This gives you more time to create a personalized celebration that truly represents your lost loved one. Get inspired by a recent regal celebration of life party in Nashville, Tennessee.

Bistro Tables

Celebrations of life are a time for people to come together or reconnect with loved ones. Bistro tables make for a great place for people to gather and chat, especially if drinks or appetizers are being served. Keep the centerpieces for these tables simple with small floral arrangements or a handful of votive candles and choose linens in a favorite color of your passed love one.

Dinner Service

As with a funeral, you may choose to serve lunch or dinner. Keep things simple, with round or rectangle guests tables and elevated centerpieces (so guests can easily chat across the table). You choice of chairs can be another way to personalize the event – Cross-back Chairs or Folding Chairs work great for a relaxed feel. Ghost or Chiavari Chairs create a more elegant feel – as do our beautiful velvet linens. We offer our velvet linens and napkins in a wide range of popular colors, including Sterling Grey, Silver and London Fog.

Table Centerpieces

In addition or as an alternative to florals, lanterns and candles make for beautiful table centerpieces – you might also consider a special candle-lighting ceremony. We offer a wide variety of tabletop lanterns, perfect for an elegant celebration of life. Such as our Vintage Gold or Silver Burnished Square Tabletop Lantern. We also love the use of floating candles in our Davis Glass Cylinders.

Lounge Areas

A frequently overlooked element are lounge areas, which your guests will appreciate for events where catching up and talking with other guests is expected. We currently offer a number of different lounge packages, ranging from modern to rustic and regal. These packages include a mix of complementary furniture, such as sofas, chairs, side tables, coffee tables, and as well as a rugs.

Classic Tents

Some people opt to host celebrations of life at home or in their backyard. Keeping this type of even close to home can make guests feel more connected or comfortable. For this type of event, we offer classic tents, available in a variety of packages to suit any guest count. For any of our services, our team is glad to offer contactless pick-up or set-up, too.

Personal Touches

Celebrate your loved ones’ hobbies, interests, and passions with personalized touches throughout the event design. For the avid sports fan, consider our Harpeth Bar inset with the logo of their favorite team, like this one shown as a example below. Or feature linens in their team colors. These small elements make a big statement that makes your celebration of life personal and unique.

Nashville Baby Guide Launch ~ The Lodge in Franklin

Kid-friendly spaces at events help children feel special while allowing for overall seamless event design. When creating and designing events for clients, we see no reason why the little ones can’t also have adorable areas to sit and eat! From whimsical pink and white chairs to adorably sophisticated cross-back chairs and beyond, we believe matching the kid areas with the rest of the event is a wonderful way to say “ultimate chic”. Check out this previous post for some of our favorite kid-friendly wedding reception rentals.

We recently created a few kid-approved looks for the Nashville Baby Guide Launch Party. If you’re here for sweet pink, charming blue, and trendy flamingos, then you’re in the right place! Pairing our Pink Chiavari Children’s Chair with our classy Fruitwood Children’s Farm Table, we designed inviting spaces for kids to enjoy oops-free meals on our Melamine Dinnerware. The kids’ areas coordinated beautifully with sophisticated adult areas. Hob Nob Glassware and Fuschia Etched Velvet Linens helped hold the playful vibe while staying “grown-up” and chic.

Pro tip: Simple activities such as adorable coloring areas help keep children busy while moms enjoy their “Mom-osas”

2019’s Pantone Color of the Year is Living Coral, and we have all the heart-eyes for this color! There are tons of ways to go about incorporating Living Coral: sweet, feminine, classy, Southern…the ideas go on and on. Here, we are in love with how the spunky color combination of teal and coral can evoke both glam as well as fun vibes. If you’re looking to incorporate 2019’s Pantone Color of the Year – Living Coral – we think this is a fabulous way to do it. We adore how the color pops up in a myriad of ways at this Spring Tasting Event at CJs off the Square (even down to the adorable cocktail).

This glam and fun theme incorporates gold, mismatched and detailed dinnerware, and our swoon-worthy Farrah Teal Velvet Chair. The teal color woven through the theme takes the coral to a new level. The Tessa Tufted Beige Loveseat just had to be part of this look, with the glam and fun lines on the piece calling out to be included in this Coral shin-dig.

Poppies and other coral floral designs–along with coral linens–accented the event, assisting the teal and coral theme in adding to the glam and fun vibes.

Here at Southern Events, we love a modern tablescape! While modern can sometimes mean stark or cold, your table design can have a modern feel and still be elegant and timeless.  With earthy elements, luxe fabrics, clean lines, and ghost chairs, we created three modern Southern tablescapes to inspire you.

#1 Modern Luxe Tablescape

Moody and glam, our modern luxe style features our Black Dupioni Linen, Carrera Marble Dinner Plates, Cybil Glassware, Sofia Flatware and Glass Chargers with Gold Rim. Taper candles in a sleek iron candle holder with carefully placed succulents as well as our Acrylic Armless Ghost Chairs, give this tablescape it’s modern lines while remaining understated. This table design would be perfect for a black tie gala, fundraiser or chic rehearsal dinner.

#2 Modern Seaside Southern Tablescape

Navy linens, relaxed china & glassware combine with an airy centerpiece and copper flatware to create a tablescape perfect for dining al fresco! For this modern seaside-inspired Southern tablescape, we used our Navy Blue Velvet Linens, Earthen China, Davis Glassware and Brushed Copper Flatware. Our Acrylic Armless Ghost Chairs once again keep this relaxed tablescape modern. Plus, we love using navy as a neutral, especially when it’s velvet.

#3 Modern Tuscan Southern Tablescape

Give your event a modern Tuscan feel! With patterned dinnerware, aqua linens and an oversized, this modern southern tablescape just needs wine! Featuring our Coronado China, Earthen China, Sofia Flatware, Davis Glassware, Ocean Blue Velvet Linens, Dove Gray Chiffon Runner, and Acrylic Armless Ghost Chairs. The bold linen and coordinating china are reminiscent of Italy art and flair, while the simple centerpiece and glassware keep this modern look the perfect fit for outdoor garden events, dinner parties and springtime wedding & baby showers.

Whether celebrating a Southern wedding or a black tie gala, romantic textures and elegant design are simply timeless. With lush velvet fabric and a delicate color palette, our latest Parisian Romance inspired styled shoot was a true delight. We worked with the awesome team from Events by Janie and Ravenswood Mansion to style our distinct Nashville rentals into a love and lace-inspired look.

The scene was set with cameo blush velvet linens draped atop bistro tables – a romantic way to welcome guests to any Southern wedding. For the tablescape, our Bloom Chiffon Runner and Sophia Flatware  were paired with our Beaded Belmont Charger for a classic and feminine design (topped off with a dinner napkin folded into a rose!). Pure Glassware was set atop our Fruitwood Farm Table where our Adeline Dining Chairs completed the Parisian romance style inspiration. We can’t wait to bring this to our couples in 2019!

Thank you Jannah Alexander Photography for capturing the beautiful photos.

Southern Events Party Rental Company has large quantities for the most massive parties and biggest balls in the south! For Carly and Wilson’s big day, the couple gathered hundreds of their friends and family to celebrate in grand style in the Tennessee countryside. We were honored to work with the teams at Firefly Events and Enchanted Florist to outfit The Barn at Sycamore Farms in style with some of our newest rentals, including our specialty event bar, the Harpeth!

Guests were welcomed into the luxe barn with our comfortable lounge furniture – the perfect spot to enjoy cocktails or take a seat while waiting for the ceremony to begin. Our Santorini Off-White Sofa and Santorini Off-White Loveseat were set around our popular Brown Barnwood Coffee Table – the perfect display of modern and rustic.

Our Boxwood Walls helped family and friends find their seats – we just loved how each escort card was thoughtfully placed! Guests were encouraged to grab a drink at one of our Harpeth 8 ft Curved Bars that was on display. And, yes, that’s a custom wedding monogram featured on the front. This personal touch goes a long way – whether it’s your wedding logo or company logo – Southern can add it!

Each specialty event bar was truly decked out with more than enough glassware for the hundreds of guests – those signature drinks looked mighty fine in our Gatsby Coupes.

Dinner featured our Fruitwood Chiavari Chairs with a comfortable ivory cushion at each place setting. Our traditional Abby Flatware was gorgeous and placed alongside the popular Darcy Bone China Charger, with a Pink Dinner Napkin to complete the design.

Thanks so much to Nyk and Cali for the gorgeous images!

Our Nashville event rentals were on display at our most recent styled shoot at Nashville’s White Dove Barn, where we dreamed up a boho fall wedding design with some amazing vendor friends!

The scene was set perfectly for our Fall-inspired boho wedding style shoot with Harlin Dining Chairs bringing natural wood to a beautiful white canvas.

The elegant boho fall wedding tablescape started with charcoal gray linens, where Pure Glassware added striking cleaning lines next to the whimsical centerpiece by the amazing Kennedy Occasions and Feather and Oak Tennessee. Peachy-taupe taper candles from Creative Candles added a bit of romance, while our Carerra Marble Dinner Plates and gold Austin Flatware pulled the gold and gray accents together for a perfect design.

Thank you again Alex Thorton for the beautiful photos, and for Kennedy Occasions for pulling all the beautiful details on this boho fall wedding together.
