We created this special look for the Nashville chapter of ISES – their monthly meeting of wedding and event professionals was held at Riverwood Mansion and it gave Southern Events a great excuse to show off some of our newest rental items.  For this event we wanted to create a modern expression of shabby chic.  Vintage furniture, textured florals and an mostly ivory and white color palette was stunning against the lush greenery that surrounds the venue.  You will spy our new Artisan China, Jackson Silver Pedestal Bistro Table and Pearlie Side Chair as well as some old favorites like our Vienna Couch (with her ivory slipcover), White Wash Farm Tables, Cross-back Chairs, Wooden Chargers and various vintage goodies.  Romantic and and relaxed it was a beautiful setting to spend an evening mingling with our fellow industry friends.

The people behind Local Table believe in fresh local and tasty food.  They also know they need a great table to serve from and asked Southern Events to help out for a recent shoot for their magazine.  Christina Logan Designs was the brain-child behind this cool California Chic design.  Think of this as farm-to-table meets relaxed rancher where a natural color palette blends with bursts of red, yellow and orange (be in food, flowers or a bonfire).  We kinda love it.  A lot 🙂

While we spend a lot of time on large productions including weddings and events with hundreds of guests, this style shoot reminded us how much of an impact a single, well-set table can have.  An event is like interactive theater – one with a carefully designed set, lighting, colors, and space.  The food, drink and dialogue give you a plot and actors/party-goers to bring everything to life.

We are super excited to share Lindsey and Dominick’s swanky wedding celebration!  We love how our gold chiavari chairs were each draped with swag of greenery.  Next to crisp white linens and glittery accents the space looking stunning!

We are so excited to share the exquisite photos from Josh and Lauren’s simple, rustic wedding. We had the pleasure to work with this Nashville news anchor and his new pediatric nurse wife, and obviously weren’t the only ones who believed the end result of their nuptials was one for the books! Brides magazine also featured the couple’s lovely day here.

The couple gathered their event inspiration straight from their venue. From the bulb lights hanging overhead and their monogram reflected on the dance floor to our farm tables and rustic chalkboard signs, all the details came together truly perfectly. We are betting many of your landed some pretty amazing deals today – now that you are home with your Black Friday finds, we have an opportunity for you to pass on your good fortune to others.  Southern Events is teaming up with Bright Event Productions for their Month of Giving BRIGHT.  During the month of December, we are collecting donations for four local charities – Safe Harbor, Mending Hearts, Yana House and Noah’s Ark.  Our good friend, Laura Little works with these charities year round and we definitely need to shout out her efforts as well to bring all this together.  These local charities work to help men and women coming out of the corrections system get back on their feet, service women with addictions and help save animals from hoarding situations.  With your donations we can help a lot of people and animals in need!

All donations can be brought to the Southern Events Showroom (101 Alpha Drive, Franklin TN) during our regular hours of operation.  You can also bring donations to Bright Event Productions Nashville Office (712 Rundle Ave, Nashville TN) if that is more convenient for you.  Here’s what we need…

Happy Halloween! We here at Southern Events love nothing more than a theme, which is why we decided to gather our favorite gothic-inspired images to celebrate this goul-ish fall holiday. Many of these are favorites from our own past events, while a few of the images have us excited to spice up our personal parties! (A special thank you to Waiting on Martha and Victoria Austin Design for their chic ideas!)

When incorporating gothic inspiration into your own event, less is best. These rich-toned, moody elements are stunning and unique when featured in small doses— but lay the dark on too heavy, and you may scare your guests!

Cadie and Aaron’s wedding took place at a private home in Franklin, TN and was captured by the superbly talented Nashville based wedding photographer, Joe Hendricks. Personal style and sweet accents were in every aspect of the couple’s outdoor country wedding design.  Guests started the celebration in a stunning ceremony space surround by large trees – We especially love the unique pattern of yellow and white rose petals lining the aisle.

The wedding reception hosted in a large tent feature vintage details and yellow and white centerpieces.  The  twine and exposed-bulb chandelier by Nashville Event Lighting cast a perfect glow over the couple as they danced on our New England Plank Hardwood Dance Floor.  Cadie and Aaron’s Wedding was a beautiful start to their happily ever after…

Congrats to another “Southern” couple – we loved working with you both and wish you many happy years ahead!

Delicate, vintage and breathtaking – Jacque and Jon’s wedding at CJ’s Off the Square simply blew us away! One of our most wonderfully talented Nashville photographers, Brandon Chesbro, took the artistic and intimate feel of this garden ceremony and reception to a whole new level with the shots he captured from this couple’s big day.

Caprice and her team at The Enchanted Florist created delicate and colorful centerpieces for the tablescape that highlighted the free and creative spirit of this couple. With a focus on vintage flare, this bride and groom chose to integrate our Farm Tables with lace runners and hanging glass votives throughout the outdoor pavilion.

Moss, burlap and twine accents, and plenty of candlelight set the stage for a beautifully natural set up. We love to see couples that choose to have small and beautiful vintage details in their event, especially the crafty MR and MRS sign details on the bride table. And, best of all, we were thrilled to see this beautiful soiree featured on Style Me Pretty!

Our gorgeous Narnia inspired photo shoot from earlier this year has us longing for cooler weather!  We team up with Southern Soriee to create a wintry setting for a couple with a flair for the dramatic. For just the right amount of glimmer, our Mercury Glass really pops on top of our Farm Tables.  The rustic setting creates the perfect atmosphere for creativity- and we LOVE the feel the photographer captured in this set. Cool, crisp, rustic, elegant- Narnia is the best word to describe the otherworldly feel of this shoot. When you chose your placecards, we recommend a scripted cursive to bring out the delicate side of mercury glass. Our Belmont Chargers with silver beaded edges compliment the assorted mercury glass votives keeping an elegant feel integrated in this vintage look.

As with most settings, the more lighting, the better! We have a wide variety of tabletop lighting available to rent to suit all of your unique event needs. If you’re looking for the perfect vintage addition to the farm tables, we recommend our Cross-back Chairs or our Constance Chairs, which are pictured below. Our Abby Fine Silverware finalizes the look with swirling delicate silver patterns that perfectly adorn the tabletop.

We love to think back on the sweet couples we have helped over the years – so many are still good friends and others now work for us!   Chelsea married her sweetheart last fall in a gorgeous wedding and Southern Events was thrilled to help plan her special day.  So thrilled, in fact we hired Chelsea to join the Southern Team as our Client Relations Specialist a mere six weeks before her wedding!  While she celebrates her one year wedding anniversary in a few short days, we also need to wish her a belated happy one year with Southern Events as well!

But we digress… their wedding was really something.

The couple envisioned a simple and elegant space on her wedding day, surrounded by their many friends and family members.  Their ceremony was simple and gorgeous, with the guests’ chairs circling the couple in a field under the open sky.  For the reception space, we used our wooden farm tables and cross-back chairs, mixed with traditional round banquet tables and fruitwood chairs, to create a relaxed and comfortable space where having a good time was mandatory.  The chalkboard backdrop was a spectacular focal point, created by the mother of the bride.  Even a year later, it’s exciting to re-live the details of one of our favorite weddings!
