Southern Style: Hanukkah Celebration Inspiration

Southern Events Products, Trends and Inspiration

Supporting image

Hanukkah is fast approaching and now is a great time to start planning for how to make your celebration special this year. In late November through early December (Nov 28-Dec 6, 2021), people will gather to light the menorah, eat food and play games. Get inspired for your Hanukkah celebration with these modern tablescapes and decor ideas to celebrate the Festival of Lights. Plus, check out our curated collections, Styled by Southern, to make setting the table a breeze.

Bold & Bright

For this Hanukkah celebration look, we opted for a classic color palette that’s bold and bright. Our Navy Blue Velvet Linens are the true star of the show, although our unique Cybil Glassware comes in at a close second. These bold touches are what make this tablescape so memorable. Meanwhile, a Glass Charger with Gold Rim, White Round China, and Glass Mosaic China are a timeless combo. The Austin Flatware complements the charger beautifully, without making the table metallic heavy. For a similar color palette, check out our Silver Soiree Collection.

Luxe Minimalistic

A truly modern look, this minimalistic tablescape features a mix of warm and cool tones with a touch of traditional holiday colors. We started with a Rouge Round Laquer Charger and stunning Carrera Marble Dinner Plates. Metallic elements, such as the charger and flatware, to keep the look elegant. As not to distract from your place settings, keep the centerpiece simple. In this case, we featured bright linens – at which point we incorporated a pop of blue.

Bright & Fun

For a more creative and playful look, consider mixing patterned plates. Our gold accent china pairs well together, for chic mismatched place settings. In order, you can see our Blair Geometric China, Kate Polka Dot China, and Vera Floral China. Light blue poly linens were used to brighten the table! For an equally luxe look, consider our Brunch in Blue Collection.

Simply Sophisticated

If you prefer a more luxe and sophisticated tablescape, opt for deep and rich colors. To start, feature a navy or royal blue table linen. For place settings, a pure white will contrast beautifully. Our sleek Austin Flatware and Bristol Glassware keep the look simple but luxe. Notice that the most ornate element of this table are the gold Chiavari chairs and a statement centerpiece.

We love a tented reception for a lot of reasons. The way color looks under sailcloth is near the top of the list. 🌿

Shades that might feel bold indoors take on a whole different quality in filtered natural light — warmer, softer, and somehow exactly right. It's one of those things you have to see in person to fully appreciate.

A hotel ballroom offers a lot — flexible layout, high ceilings, a neutral canvas. What it doesn't offer by default is warmth.

When hosting at a ballroom, the rental selections are what bridge that gap. Texture, color, lighting, and furniture choices determine whether a ballroom feels like a wedding or a conference. It's a distinction worth thinking through early.

Blue and white at @cjsoffthesquare. Simple, bright, and completely right for the space. 💙 An open-air gazebo doesn't need much, just the right colors and enough confidence to let the venue do the heavy lifting.

When the florals are that good, the chairs just need to show up. 🌸 White resin folding chairs in a garden ceremony. Simple, clean, and completely at home at The Cordelle.

Blue and orange is a bold call. This one stuck the landing. 🍊
The difference between a color combination that works and one that doesn't is rarely the colors themselves; it's how you feature them!

Cocktail hour is the part of the event most people plan last. It's usually the part guests remember first. 🥂

Indoor and outdoor setups call for completely different rental decisions — we broke down exactly how to think through both. Link in bio.
