We were thrilled to have been apart this recent Winter Wonderland Wedding style shoot that was filled with gorgeous accents and beautiful designs at the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. With the help of Wedding 101, this wedding pulled off the rustic chic – meets – glamorous style beautifully, and the linens and coverings were able to add a touch of vintage class to the event as well. And with chilly temps outside, this stylish take on winter wedding decor will warm you right up!
The images below showcase the blending of these different style – glamorous and rustic – The white, blue and silver hues created a magical wintry feel when combined with the romantic candles, hydrangeas and table settings, while the rustic inspired decor on the outdoor tables made for a vintage chic style. Wondering who those handsome fellas are above? If you guessed Kings of Leon, you would be right! Not only are they featured in the new Nashville film For the Love of Music – The Story of Nashville, they were filmed sitting on Southern’s very own Beatrice couch – pretty cool! This documentary tells the story of Nashville and how it’s moniker has come to include all music, not just country. All told through the eyes of the musicians, songwriters, producers and artists who live and breathe the inspiration of this great city – Music City.

We are so excited to share the exquisite photos from Josh and Lauren’s simple, rustic wedding. We had the pleasure to work with this Nashville news anchor and his new pediatric nurse wife, and obviously weren’t the only ones who believed the end result of their nuptials was one for the books! Brides magazine also featured the couple’s lovely day here.
The couple gathered their event inspiration straight from their venue. From the bulb lights hanging overhead and their monogram reflected on the dance floor to our farm tables and rustic chalkboard signs, all the details came together truly perfectly. Southern Events is teaming up with Bright Event Productions for their Month of Giving BRIGHT. During the month of December, we are collecting donations for four local charities – Safe Harbor, Mending Hearts, Yana House and Noah’s Ark. Our good friend, Laura Little works with these charities year round and we definitely need to shout out her efforts as well to bring all this together. These local charities work to help men and women coming out of the corrections system get back on their feet, service women with addictions and help save animals from hoarding situations. With your donations we can help a lot of people and animals in need!

We have long been a fan of CJ’s Off the Square fabulous outdoor garden venue and love working with them on their weddings and events . Amazingly, they have an opening for a Saturday this coming April 19, 2014 – additionally, couples that book by December 15, 2013 receive $1000 towards their wedding decor. For this date as well as all their remaining Friday and Sunday openings! Just think what you could so with that money in our Vintage Prop Shoppe 🙂

Happy Halloween! We here at Southern Events love nothing more than a theme, which is why we decided to gather our favorite gothic-inspired images to celebrate this goul-ish fall holiday. Many of these are favorites from our own past events, while a few of the images have us excited to spice up our personal parties! (A special thank you to Waiting on Martha and Victoria Austin Design for their chic ideas!)
When incorporating gothic inspiration into your own event, less is best. These rich-toned, moody elements are stunning and unique when featured in small doses— but lay the dark on too heavy, and you may scare your guests!

Cadie and Aaron’s wedding took place at a private home in Franklin, TN and was captured by the superbly talented Nashville based wedding photographer, Joe Hendricks. Personal style and sweet accents were in every aspect of the couple’s outdoor country wedding design. Guests started the celebration in a stunning ceremony space surround by large trees – We especially love the unique pattern of yellow and white rose petals lining the aisle.
The wedding reception hosted in a large tent feature vintage details and yellow and white centerpieces. The twine and exposed-bulb chandelier by Nashville Event Lighting cast a perfect glow over the couple as they danced on our New England Plank Hardwood Dance Floor. Cadie and Aaron’s Wedding was a beautiful start to their happily ever after…
