It’s a good day in the Southern Events’ office when we get a call from Jessica Sloane. One of Nashville’s most talented wedding designers and planners, she effortlessly combines pieces of our inventory to create trendy, stylish and timeless celebrations – again and again. Her events are those one aspires to, the stuff of magazine spreads and remarkable beauty. And yet, her weddings always emote a personal, approachable and relaxed vibe. Such talent needs to be share and so we are thrilled to highlight Jessica on our blog today!
Her process is unique (but with a unique process, spectacular results). In Jessica’s own words…
“I am in the business of creating interesting and beautiful aesthetics. I help you tell your story by designing an event that is an extension of who you are and expresses your love for each other. I will listen to what inspires you, what you’re drawn to and consider all of the outside elements. I offer my professional expertise and creative ideas to help you design your day so it’s a personal experience for you and your guests. Helping you develop your overall design concept, guiding you through the planning process, and implementing those plans is what I do best. I collaborate with some of the best vendors in the industry who will make your wedding as thoughtful and beautiful as the relationship you’re celebrating.”
Visit her website and blog to see more her work and simply be in awe of her talent like we are 🙂

Continuing where we left off on Tuesday, we have Margaret and Stevie’s grand Tennessee wedding reception for you to enjoy! Mixing our Farm Tables and Cross-Back Chairs with Round Tables draped in turquoise linens with our Vintage Ivory Lace Overlays the couple carried the timeless elegance of their outdoor ceremony under their grand tent for a truly memorable night. Both our Fruitwood and Miller Bars were in full force for the soriee as the couple serve a bevy of amazing wines and specialty cocktails – simple gorgeous!
We have to again thank Nashville wedding planner Libby Page for another flawless event. And kudos to Mary Rosenbaum Photographs – stunning images a plenty thanks to her talent 🙂 Congrats to the newlyweds – we were so happy to help bring your spectacular vision to life!

We have seen the steady shift of brides incorporating bohemian themed elements into their wedding decor – a trend we love by the way! Today’s post features a recent style shoot that combines the causal effortlessness of boho chic with luxe details and elegance. Riverwood Mansion was the ideal space where we used warm purple-pinks gold and ivory to highlight the historic features. Braiding the table runners and our model’s effortless style gave the look the bohemian feel we were after. Romantic and gorgeous!
The fab photos below are courtesy of Amy Nicole Photography and we need to give kudos to the creative masterminds that helped up with this superbly stylish look – Kelly Dellinger Events and Anne Whitson. In fact, we were stylish enough to be featured on Ruffled’s Blog – pretty exciting! We are looking forward to seeing more Bohemian style as this trend takes hold in Middle Tennessee.

We are super excited to share Lindsey and Dominick’s swanky wedding celebration! We love how our gold chiavari chairs were each draped with swag of greenery. Next to crisp white linens and glittery accents the space looking stunning!

For Caitlin and Dominic’s big day, these two love birds celebrated with their closest friends and family in style! Their winter wedding in Nashville, featured black and white decor adding a modern feel to the rustic industrial venue. Bold black folding chairs, crisp white linens are a stark but elegant contrast to the wood pillars and brick backdrop. Italian string lights and crystal chandliers from our friends at Bright Event Productions made the space come to life.
Thank you to Beautiful Day Photography for the gorgeous photos below, and best wishes to the newlyweds -Caitlin and Dominic! We loved working with you both 🙂

When life gives you lemons, we say take the lemonade and create a fab style shoot! We did just that, partnering with vendors from Wedding 101 to create this causal and colorful style shoot at the Lighthouse Event and Wedding Center in Hendersonville. Our color palette included luscious lemon and lime paired against gray and white creating a youthful preppy look. Next to the water and under the brilliant blue sky and life is very sweet!
Thanks to Complete MVP for the great photos – You can see more pictures from this shoot on the Story Board Wedding Blog where they graciously featured this fun style shoot 🙂

We have been looking forward to sharing Melissa and Rob’s summer wedding with you since we first starting working with this sweet couple. The couple envisioned a relaxed, elegant celebration highlighting the canopy of nature that surround the lakeside site. We took their vision and added our White Wash Farm Tables, Cross-Back Chairs, Heirloom China, and various items from our Vintage Prop Shoppe for a result that is simply stunning!
Gregory Byerline was the uber-talented shooter behind the awesome pictures you see below. While he generally specializes in bridal portraiture, he considers a limited number of weddings in a year that he shoots. Either way, working with him always means AMAZING images and he should definitely be on your short list of Nashville photographers.
Congrats to Melissa and Rob – We hope your day was a magical as it looked 🙂
