You read that right, y’all! Southern Events is coming to a TV screen near you with a series of commercials on WZTV Fox 17 News Nashville and The CW Network! We’re really excited to branch out into a (new to us) media platform. We thought it would be fun to share a behind-the-scenes look at how the shoot came together. Our product inventory is vast and versatile, so we decided to create three different commercials featuring three different styles – you get a sneak peek at all three below.  Stay tuned – we’ll be back on the blog later this week with a detailed post of all the products we used and links to our new commercials. Yay!

Jon and Lauren were married in an intimate lakeside wedding, hosted at a private home. The beautiful late summer day set the perfect scene for the happy couple to say their I-Do’s. Their closest family and friends sat on our Rustic Benches for the ceremony. Our blush pink table linens, Belmont Chargers, Artisan China, and Abby Flatware graced our Farm Tables for the reception. And we absolutely love how our Hungarian Baby Bathtubs were paired with our Whiskey Barrel Bar to serve the cold beverages! All in all, Jon + Lauren’s wedding was a sweet, intimate occasion to celebrate their love. Congrats again, you two!

Jill and Jacob’s were wed at Wren’s Nest, the perfect setting for a relaxed, woodland wedding full of vintage and rustic details. The Bride & Groom were seated in our Constance Vintage Chairs, while dinner was served on our Heirloom China. Guests lounged on our Rosie + Christopher Ivory Vintage Chairs and Barnwood Couch, paired with our Leona Vintage Coffee table. Props to Enchanted Florist for creating those lush, beautiful floral arrangements – we love those gorgeous garlands draped across the banquet tables! All of the details really came together to create an romantic, woodsy scene for the happy couple to commit their love.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from all of us at Southern Events!  What a whirlwind 2014 has been – it is hard to believe the year will over in less than two weeks.  First, some housekeeping… Our operating hours for the showroom and warehouse over Christmas and New Year’s will be the following:

• December 23 – Open regular hours
• December 24 -26 – Closed, Merry Christmas!
• December 31 – Showroom and Warehouse close at 2pm.  Please plan pick-ups before then.
• January 1 – Closed, Happy New Year’s!
• January 2 – Open regular hours

If you have any last minute rental needs for the next couple weeks, we encourage you to contact our office as soon as you can, 615-595-8508. Again, we can’t thank you all enough for the amazing support and continued patronage this past year.  We are looking forward to awesome 2015 with you!   Wishing you joy, peace and merry everything!

Glamour, fashion and fun – these are a few of our favorite things! We teamed up with Big Events, Inc., for The Bride Room‘s Night of Fashion + Fun at The Cordelle, a fabulous new venue located in Nashville’s historic Rutledge Hill. Our cross-back chairs (standard and bar stool height) and Remington Gunmetal Bistro Tables set the scene for the stylish affair. Bright Event Productions lit up the evening with their string lights, and their gobos created a dramatic backdrop for the runway!

With Thanksgiving only days away, we wanted to let you know about our slightly modified hours this week.  While we will be available to all of our clients with parties planned for the holiday weekend and are happy to help with last minute rentals for your Thanksgiving feast.  If you need to get in touch with us about an upcoming event please note our limited availability this week. As always, please remember to schedule an appointment:

• Monday: Office open 9am – 5pm, Warehouse open 8am – 4pm
• Tuesday: Showroom closed for appointments so that we may celebrate as a staff! Our warehouse will be open for customer deliveries and pick ups 8am – Noon and 2-4pm (closed from noon – 2pm).
• Wednesday: Our Office and Warehouse are open 8am – 2pm for pick-ups and returns.  We encourage you to plan your visit before noon so our staff can leave on time to celebrate with family and friends.
• Thursday & Friday: Closed – Happy Thanksgiving!

We were so excited when the Ravenswood Mansion crew invited us to their Rendezvous at Ravenswood, an open house for supporters of this historic project and official grand opening. The Ravenswood, located in south Brentwood, was lovingly restored in 2013, making it a newer place for Music City folk to gather and celebrate.  It officially opened for events this summer and is currently booking weddings, parties and galas. Rustic elegance was the theme for the night with Barnwood Lounge furniture, Cross-back Chairs, Round Farm Tables and stylish designer linens. The string lights and gorgeous gold orbs are from our friends at Bright Event Productions.  The property is truly stunning and we look forward to many events here in the future!

Wendie and Evan’s wedding, hosted in the backyard of a private home, created a beautiful, intimate setting for the couple to say their I-Do’s. Guests gathered for the ceremony at our Wooden Folding Chairs, but our Crossback Chairs were used for the dinner reception, and we think the combination worked perfectly! Our white and chocolate-colored linens looked absolutely lovely with the muted color palette and early evening sunlight. A few items from our Vintage Prop Shoppe, like the suitcases and chalkboards, added a cozy, relaxed feel to the day’s festivities.

And a big thank you to Lady and Mister Photographie for taking these stunning photos!

Danielle and Jonathon’s romantic fall wedding at CJ’s Off the Square is Exhibit A for the best of this season’s trends. The classic whites and muted florals used early this spring are being mixed in with the darker tones of fall to create an elegant, ethereal feel. The couple incorporated several Southern details to bring their vision to life. Our Cora Couch, Lydia chairs, and Francis Coffee Table provided the perfect setup for guests and wedding attendants to sit and chat. And we love the look of our Whiskey Barrels displaying those lush bouquets of baby’s breath! Our wooden folding chairs provided seating for the ceremony, while the reception featured our crossback chairs and vintage ivory lace, as well as our mercury glass votives. The end result was absolutely gorgeous!

Nashville photographer Brandon Chesbro took the amazing photos from Danielle and Jonathan’s big day. Stunning to say the least!
